I've never had it by itself but there was a strawberry rhubarb tart at this middle eastern restaurant I used to go to that I absolutely loved.  They changed owners and they unfortunately stopped carrying it.

When I lived in Alaska, Rhubarb grew everywhere.  It was one of the plants that just took off.  I've eaten it exactly 3 times in my life and threw up each time.  Not from the taste, but the acidity of the plant.  It's extremely high, and my stomach (which has enough acid in it already) can't handle it.  The taste is okay, but not one of my favorites either.

Had some in the yard garden when I was growing up in Wisc, but haven't seen much in the East until last week.  My mother made a rhurbard dish that was pretty good.

Anyone have a good recipe for the strawberry rhubard pie?  I've had some bakery s-r pies that were terrific.

Can you get seeds for it or starter plants?  I never knew how we got the rurbard we had -- it just was there when we moved in.

Any idea what kind of soil you need to make it grow and survive?
