Post count mysteriously lowered
« on: July 19, 2010, 09:26:43 am »
When I logged on today I noticed my total post count has gone down by over 100.  Yesterday it was approaching 700, and now it's not even 600.  I'd like to know what the reason for this is??  Does it have to do with people deleting threads, is it a glitch, or did someone delete 100 posts of mine without my permission?

A fast response is appreciated.  Thanks admin

Okay, I think I may have pinpointed part of the problem.  I noticed the recent thread "10 Reasons Not to Believe in God" that was started by marieelissa in the Debate section is gone (also her post count went down by 500 overnight).  That means my and anyone else who posted in there's good information is GONE.  It's obvious she did this maliciously; people should not be allowed to delete threads they started, only their OWN posts!!!

This makes me very angry.  I really don't understand why she wasn't banned months ago.  Her behavior, time and again, is unacceptable.

I would like to know also about posts being lowered.  I had 30 posts last month (I could have sworn my life on it) and when I went to claim my forum bonus, I only had 29?   Why would I just stop at 29 posts?  I wanted my bonus!  Many times I have well over 30 posts, but not in June. Next time I will not cut it so close and post more than just 30.  Can somebody's posts be deleted by others in an indirect fashion?  Perhaps an admin could see if one of my posts was deleted?  I was disappointed that I missed my bonus. :'(

rcbrad, if you posted in a thread that got deleted by the original poster, yes it effects your total post count for that month.  It is a horrible move on their part because they may be messing up multiple peoples' chances for the monthly bonus.   >:(

My post count is also down by over 100. This move on marieelissa's part has the potential to affect many posters! I agree with queenofnines - why is marieelissa still allowed on here? She knew what she was doing because she said she tried it once, saw what happened, and then went through and got rid of every thread she had started. How can one person wreak so much havoc on a great website and continue to get away with it? :angry7:

I asked myself that question MONTHS ago.  I think the admin either just doesn't care or are too nice.   :dontknow:

I shouldn't of deleted my threads, I realized that now, and if I did then it should of been for the months the forum bonus has already been given out for.

Wrong again! Many people, like myself, may have requested the bonus for the month of June since you CAN request the previous month if you forgot to. The June bonus has NOT been given out yet for those of us who did it that way! Since you deleted posts, the numbers may no longer add up to 30.  >:( >:(

You know, you can only torture a  person so much.
Is that why, after Anella brought up the 'cross and nails', you suddenly stuck a pic of the Crucifixion in your profile? ::)

I am actually surprised the way some members speak to me on this forum...

You shouldn't be surprised.  It's absolutely ridiculous that you are.  All of the crap you get from other members you absolutely deserve.  If you simply changed the behavior we have complained about, guess what?  You would no longer feel like a "victim" because we wouldn't have anything to be upset about.

Most adults don't just randomly grill another person for no reason.  You really need to take a step back and see things from someone else's perspective other than your own.  Unfortunately, you've proved time and again that you are not capable of doing this.  You shouldn't use whatever mental issues you have as an excuse, as you obviously have enough going on upstairs to lie and be manipulative.

Bumping for any feedback from others/admin.  I do not want to be a bother, but I was hoping for an answer.  I am not sure if I should fill out a support ticket for this or not?  Again, I do not want to be a pain, but I just wanted some feedback.  Additionally, I wonder if the number of posts listed on the forum bonus request form, may not always match exactly the number true number of posts at times, due to a maybe a glitch?

rcbrad,
I was wondering if you have actually gone through your posts and counted, on your own/not going by what the count says, how many posts you have in that month? If you DO have 30 that you feel are long enough/contribute enough to count as a valid post, then I would submit a support ticket on it. Is it possible that you did have 30, but one didn't fall within the parameters for being a contributory one?
Hope I didn't completely confuse you with this! ;)

Thanks jordandog.  No you did not confuse me at all.  I am certain that I had 30 posts for June as of the 29th, (based on the total count on the form) so I stopped posting for June.  When the form would not submit, I then actually counted June's posts and I had only 29?  The posts would still be there whether they were contributory or not.

Not to confuse things further, but for July on the form the total number of posts listed are one less than the actual number of posts that I have when I counted the posts with a July date?

Going forward I will request the bonus before the current month is over to avoid this issue.  I have been doing this for a year and this never happened before.

I wish I knew what happened in June?  Not a big deal, but it's one of those things that's bugging me.  ;D

Whoa, very strange, eh? You might have a post gremlin who sneaks in and steals one? :D I understand the June situation bugging you, it would bug me too! ;)

Interesting (and sad) dilemma.  Seems with this promotion, the forum should allow a topic or post to be marked as "deleted" without actually removing the entry (or associated entries) from the database.  I can think of a few straight-forward ways (at least straight forward in my experience) to get that to work if the forum admins have access to the forum's source code and database...

This is the first forum which I have seen that allows users/posters to delete their entire thread!
Pretty silly to delete a thread in the first place, but to do so on a forum that actually pays you to post is wrong.

That option should not be allowed, maybe then people will think before they post!
