Secret Shoppers ?
« on: February 13, 2008, 12:59:07 pm »
Does anyone know if these secret shopping sites are for real ?   I would like to try one out but I am afrarid I might get ripped off.  If you can tell me that they are for real or if they are scams I would appreciate it.

I know that some of them are scams...one of them sent me a cashiers check for over $4,000 and they wanted me to shop with some of the money, keep some for payment, and wire them $3000 back. Fake, Fake, Fake!!!  :BangHead: So I did alot of research and found that real ones would want to interview you in person. So yeah, I gave up on that option. Then I found FC..at least I can make real cash here!!

There ARE a select FEW out there that AREN'T scams.

The best thing to do is to do your research on companies that you are interested in.

Below is the best site I know of to do this.

You can also check with the BBB in the state of the company that you're interested in.

For example, if you're interested in a company that is based out of Arizona, just google them by entering into the Google search engine: "BBB in Arizona", etc. You can also just click on the link below that I provided to find one too.

Hope this helped you and DO be careful out there!

I had the same thing happen to me that juicy brought up. I knew when I got the check it was a scam and sure enough, I investigated them and it was FRAUD! This perticular company wanted me to deposit the money into my account and send them back some to their "account". They must of thought I had stupid written across my forehead, I knew this was a way for them to get my bank account info. NOT!!!
These are usually just a group of people sitting back and waiting for you to transmitt your info to them & not an actual bank account.

But check this site out to see if anyone else has complained about a perticular company. Or just search it yourself in their search engine contained within their site.

Check out 4 yourself: http://www.ripoffreport.com/

BBB: http://www.bbbonline.org/

Talk about scams anyone get those stupid emails saying your numbers had come up on some lottery you have never played and they came up in Africa hahah.. then they want you to call this number. to claim and they will send you the money. but heres the catch they want you to send them cash before they send you your winnings. I usually reply back with Cant say it on here too vulgar and the winnings is 2 mil like yea right. what idiot would fall for that one?lol

Yeah, me too.

I also like the ones that I recieve from "Africa". Where the woman is a daughter of some diplomat whose died and she wants to move her funds (usually around $3,000,000.00) into a U.S. bank account.

And of course, that bank account would be mine.

Seriously, are you kidding me? Are there people who actually fall for that? Hook, line AND sinker?

If so...."I'll sell you the Eiffel Tower for 1/2 million dollars!!!"

LoL

go to shadowshopper.com I think it is $5 for registration but they do have alot of jobs. Many connect you to different shopper sites...shadow shopper just has a collection of actual shopper sites and some jobs of their own. You can sign up for these other sites and not renew with shadow shopper or just keep going with shadow shopper. Last week I had $100 worth of jobs. This week I only accepted about $15 worth. Hope that helps.

Yeah shadow shopper seems legit, my girlfriend signed up for it and she gets several e-mails daily with opportunities that range in payouts.. She does a few a week..

Legit or not, you should not have to pay upfront for any secret shopping assignments. There are so many free legitimate sites. Marketforce for example are acceping applications. Just to name a few: Mystery guest and Corporate research international mystery shops.

I went to market force and signed up with CMS and then freaked out after i joined about having to give them my SS so i canceled my account. And I will make sure that i monitor my credit report.
