:cat: That is a heartfelt wish and I hope it works out for you to be able to see her again while she does remember you. That can be hard when a family member is going through something like that.

I'm an only child, and it was 4 years ago, yesterday (my daughter's birthday) that my mom died.  It doesn't seem like 4 years - things are still kind of hard, at times.  I hope your mom will hang on for you to be able to spend some quality time with her.

One of myfavorite people in the world died 8 years ago. My Mimi. It doesn't feel like it's been that long. It's still hard sometimes and I miss her dearly. But it does get easier with time. I'm sorry about your Mom. I'll be praying for yall.

My mother died when I was 27, at the age of 60 and on her birthday no less. My father died just 18 months later, at the age of 62, and right after my 29th birthday. I am not trying to sound uncompassionate or mean, but you all need to be greatful for the (longer) time you have had with your's and need to make every effort to see them. You just don't know and I was NOT prepared for either of these deaths, believe me. They never got to see my 3 sons grow up or any of the other things we can take for granted. When I hear people complain about a parent being a 'burden', a pain in the butt, demanding, etc., I just want to slap them at times.

Hope you get to see your mom soon, Aggie.  I really wish you the best.  My Christmas wish is for more patience.  I seem to have lost so much of it along the way...

I hope you get to see your mom, too. I go see mine almost every day. She lived with me for 15 yrs but I had to put her in a nursing home last year. I hope she's feeling good enough to come visit when we celebrate Christmas.

I really think that if you want to see someone before it is to late you need to do it when you feel the need.  I lost a few people in the last  couple years.  But about eightteen years ago my mother in law was sick and my husband keep saying that he was going to call her or visit the upcoming weekend.  He ever got the chance to do that.  Now when we get the feeling that we need to see someone or talk to them we do it even if it is a little difficalt at the time.  My grandmother is getting up there.  at before Thanksgiving came we were all feeling the need to visit her.  So my whole family(mom, Dad, Husband, Son, Niece and myself) got in the car and went.  Used coupons, savings from online, what ever it took.  Was able to visit her and it ways the best Thanksgiving for my family.  My son how had to go without the fun stuff that he has everyday even said it was get to see nana.  So if you want to go you can find a way before you don't get the chance and cant go back
