Julie,

Glad you had a somewhat easier day yesterday.  Yes, you are right.  Sometimes it takes a buddy and a scolding to make us slow down when we need to.

No problem on the spelling of Amya's name.  It took me a while to get it right too.

As of yesterday I've finished my communications and English classes.  Today I have my last Medical Office Procedures, a test of terms in Personal Finance (all multiple choice) and the last class in there.  Only one more test to go in Pharmacology.  Yuk. She is one tough teacher too.

I'm working on a couple of shawls to mail out to my cousin for her new online store.  I'll mail them early next week and we'll see how those sales go.  I have a list of projects lined up for my break and then my grand-daughter will graduate high school on June 1.  School starts on the 29th of May so I'll have to maybe miss one day of school the first week.  It can't be helped.  I have to be in West Virginia on Friday for a party and then commencement will be on Saturday.  She is the one that will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall for engineering.

Did I tell you that Bob and I are thinking of opening a shop in the next couple of years?  I had purchased him a beer making kit for Christmas and he has gone full throttle into being a brewer.  He is not a big drinker by any means but really enjoys a glass of dark ale with his dinners.  The darker the better.  Anyhow we have to drive some distance to purchase his supplies or he gets things online but there are not any stores in our area.  So...we're thinking this would be a good way to supplement our income.  We can offer beer, wine, cheese making supplies from the same store along with kits to grow your own mushrooms.  Here is one store that we have been driving to Cleveland to purchase from.

http://www.leeners.com/

We need to research more on licensing but this might be the ticket to retirement for us.  We both know enough to put up an online store too.  There used to be the beauty shop in the basement so we'd just have to do a little renovations but we are commercially zoned, even though we live in a rural area.

I'd be so much happier working from home!  When the shop wasn't busy I could still craft and who knows...maybe incorporate some of my craft things into the shop too.

Hi Kim,

Yay!  Only one more test, then some time off!  That's wonderful about your granddaughter graduating, and you getting to go!  I hope she does well at VA Tech.  I admire her choice of Engineering - that is something that I don't think I could get the gist of, like geometry - ugh!!  We have a friend who has done that job for years - he loves it.

I had a horrible day yesterday with my emotions - Kim, it was bad.  I ended up taking a xanax.  A couple of things happened, then it continued spiraling downward after that.  I hate when that happens.

That's great about your cousin doing an online store!  I hope your shawls do well.  I guess it's kind of like e-bay?  That might give you some opportunities.

That would really be neat and a great idea for you and Bob opening your own shop.  With everything commercially zones, that's a big step already taken care of.  I checked out your link for that store - that's a neat place.  I even think I could try making the sourdough bread.  It's my favorite bread.  I have to be careful, though, as it will trigger my asthma/allergy problem, but I've learned how much I can tolerate at a time with it.  Making root beer sounds fun, too.  I wish you two the best with looking at doing this.  Then like you said, you would be so much happier working from home.

Hope you aced the Medical Office Procedures test!  Have a great evening and wonderful weekend!

Julie  :)

Kim,

Update:  :)   I'm not taking any classes at the moment.  I got my Associate's Degree when I was working on my last job - right before I retired.  As a matter of fact, my daughter and I graduated on the same day.  Of course, I had to go to her graduation.  They were too far apart to get to both of them.  She graduated with a double major in Psychology and Business.  She started college right after high school but dropped out after two years.  She graduated when she was 30.

I have spent the last several months trying to get some kind of treatment for my arthritis and fibromyalgia that would ease the pain and help me to get back to doing some of the things I really want to do.  I did start back on crocheting a little during the winter months.  I had to stop for a while because of pain in my hands and wrists.  I am on Cymbalta now, which has actually relieved a lot of the fibromyalgia pain.  I haven't given up on getting a Bachelor's Degree.

I think I'll go outside today and try to work in my flower bed a little.  I'll talk to you guys later.

Writing to both of you in one message.  Lazy girl!

Juanita, I thought you were taking an extra class of some sort.  I get confused easily though. :)

Julie,  talk to me by email about the emotional thing going on, if you want and feel up to it or you could call me today.  I'll be home all day.  I have no gas money to do go anywhere!  All of my cash went into bills, yarn and kitten food this week and I'm a couple of days away from pay day so scraping again.

I'm just going to work on things around the house and yard...get the humming bird feeders up, etc.  If you call and I don't answer right away it might be because I'm in the yard.  I'll try to watch the caller id and call you back.

Hi Kim,

I'm glad you have a day at home to do things you want to do!  We need to put our hummingbird feeders out, but to be honest, I do not feel like doing anything.  I did fill the bird feeders, and did a dishwasher load of dishes, and a few other little things, but that's about it at this point.

I'm in an odd mood today with no energy whatsoever, my pain, and my face hurts - even to touch the outside, like the cheek area.  I'm guess this 2nd antibiotic didn't do too much with getting rid of the sinus infection.  Sorry, if negative or down - just can't seem to help it right now.

Hope your Saturday goes really well and nice for you.  My dil's mom asked to befriend me on FB, and this time I accepted.  I saved several pictures of the girls to my computer from her page.  She's offering to have the girls with her and meet her on the 22nd when I have drs. appts. down there.  I won't hold my breath in cases of excuses, or an ambush, etc., but we'll see.  It's already fizzled on another one she supposedly tried to "set" up.  If it does work, I'm just going to take all of the Christmas gifts in two big tote bags and give them to the girls then.  I really have my doubts because of everything that's already happened, but I'll give benefit of the doubt, at least.

Talk to you later, wonderful friend,

Julie

Julie,

I didn't get as much done as I would have liked.  My energy level is really low for some reason.  Depression too.  Are we both suffering spring fever.

I hope you get to see the girls and that they don't pull the wool over your eyes and let you down.  I know you'd feel so much better if you could get to see those girls and get things back to more normal than it's been.

I've made a too-do list for today and will try to push forward.  Only one class on Monday and Wednesday and then the break starts.  Bob will be off work Monday and Tuesday and hopefully I can get him started on building the bookcase for my computer room and then get this room cleaned up and organized.  He didn't want to start it until he had time to redo the walls and hardwood floors.  I knew if I waited for that it would be a long time so I talked him into just getting this one task done so I could get this room in better shape.

Wish me luck.  I hope you have a better day too.

Kim,

I hope he'll get the bookshelf done for you.  We really need one in Roddy's office so it will look more like an office, lol.

Sorry about your energy levels and moods being down - can totally relate, girlfriend.  I hope things get better for you quickly - especially with Spring Break starting for you.

I hope dil's mom is serious, too.  I don't think I could take much more like that.

I did get some things done this weekend - just have to stop and rest in between.  I got my of my assignment for the class done, too.  Just one more assignment before Tuesday night.

Hope your one class goes well for you Monday and Wednesday - is this the one you have a test in?

Hugs and prayers!  Good luck with the bookshelf and the test!

Julie  :)

Hi Kim,

Bad storms here today!!  Had to unplug everything for about 4 hours!  Little fella acted like the storm noises were nothing at all, lol.  Fluff kept barking with the thunder, and he would say, "Hush, Puff, is otay."

He goes back to the hospital Thursday to have his brain scanned and checked to make sure there are no lesions or tumors.  He's really been doing fine with no symptoms, etc.

Well, since the storms ended, I got FB notifications caught up, my paid stuff and forum posting done, and all my email done for pay or answered.  Now I'm going to check my couple of groups I'm in, and clean up from supper.

Hope your day was great for you, and productive with your one class.  Just one more Wed., right?  And the test!

Talk to you later!

Julie  :)

Welcome.  Thanks for stopping by.  I like blogging on a daily basis.  It's kind of neat to look back over your posts and see what has transpired.  What types of things do you crochet?  I'm working on some shawls right now but don't have any tried and tested patterns.

Feel free to join us in our blog.  It gives me somewhere to post daily on the forum without having to poke around too much.  Hope to see you here again too.

Hi Vic,

I don't know that our blog is really popular but it is a daily stomping grounds for a few of us.

Thanks for all your years of service.  I'm glad you got to retire and hope you are enjoying your free time.

Cats are driving me crazy too but they are so sweet.  I've wondered about having ferrets.  They look cute but I know they can wreak havoc on a house.  Tell us about your experience with them if you would.

Hope to see you again.

Kim

Julie,

I should have listened to your words of warning about the storms and realized they were heading this way too.  I don't think we suffered as badly as you nor as long in duration but we sure got hit.  It hailed and rained.  I hope the garden is okay but will have to wait until daylight to check things out.

I did my test yesterday, and don't think I did well, but she told us we don't have to return to her class on Wednesday if we don't want to.  I don't want to so my vacation starts now!  I posted on FB about taking the kittens to the vet yesterday so I won't revamp that story on here.  Gurdy, the black one, was the one that was being lethargic but he is doing better now.  She seems to think they are both boys but reminded me that it's a bit difficult to tell yet.  Those little nuggets aren't much bigger than a tomato seed right now.  :)

They are loving the real canned food and I'm glad they will be making the transition.  My arms and hands are so torn up from little claws trying to make biscuits while they are eating.

We are running Jess and Amya to the airport today.  They are leaving for a week in Florida with their aunt.  We figured we would stop and look for the lumber for the bookshelf, eat dinner out and just blow the entire day shopping or whatever we feel like doing.

I'll settle my butt in and start on some projects later in the week.  I want to go and visit my son one day and pick up some pallets at my friends house so I can do some of those flower projects I've been posting on FB.  I also have scads of kart tires in the garage and want to paint them the bright neon colors and make at least one arrangement of those somewhere in the yard.

Instead of putting a bunch of annuals out on the front porch and window box I decided to go with an edible garden.  I planted about four varieties of lettuces and a bunch of onions yesterday.  I don't care if the neighbors think I'm touched in the head....I don't have many anyhow as we live in the country but I'm going to extend my edible garden in as many areas of the yard as I can.  I don't have much flat land to plant so I have to take adavantage of what I can.  I have herbs growing in pots in various places too.  I'd like to bring a garden in at the end of summer and use the grow lights I bought last winter!  I think having an indoor salad garden would be fun and save some pocket change.

So have you heard anymore from the DIL?  What are your project plans for the rest of the week...and believe me I know it all depends on energy levels.  I plan and make lists but can only do what my body will allow me.

later.... :cat: :dog:
