What is better to wash your hands before eating or to bless your food?

Well this question, I believe can have a two part answer. Whenever I have quess over or I am in the mist of other people. Sometimes we hold hands and someone out the group pray over the food. At this group setting it is best to pray first then wash hand. Part 2 When I am at home. I wash my hands first then I pray because I dont want to fix my plate with dirty hands neither do I allow my quess to do the same.

Well in my house we wash our hands before we sit down to eat then we pray or we all stand around and take hands and pray then wash hands...

I think it's a matter of beliefs and opinion, but to stay physically healthy, clean hands are always good!

As others have said, why not both?  If you hold hands to pray, then wash.  If you don't, wash, sit down, then pray.

You should always wash your hands before eating. I can imagine how much germs there are floating around? Then after you wash your hands then you bless the food, That is how I would go about doing it. I guess some people may do it different from others; it all depends on the person.

You supposed to wash your hands, BEFORE---you sit down to eat. THEN----after you sit down, You say the blessing, BEFORE you eat.

However---the saying that , Cleanliness is next to Godliness, is often quoted as Holy Scripture----BUT---IT IS NOWHERE IN THE BIBLE !!

Now, I am NOT saying that we should not be clean. It is just that the scripture IS NOT in the Bible.
