What is good to take for a cold?

I have tried everything and the best I have gotten is Alka Seltzer Plus Lemon flavor. It works. A hotty totty is really good for a cough and hot tea wit lemon. With the Alka Seltzer you will get drowsy so, make sure it's ok if you can rest.

I take zicam if I start to get a sore throat and then often I don't get sick when I take it. If I get sick I take echinacea and superfood drinks to recover more quickly. I also drink tea and hot soups while sick.

I work in a nursing home, so there is a lot of bugs that go around. I have been using Emergen-C as soon as something starts going around and I either don't catch it, or it seems to decrease the severity when I do. I also take echinacea and even before I took the Emergen-C I found I was getting sick less often that others. When I am sick though I find Alka-Seltzer Plus very helpful for the the symptoms as well.

Tough it out. Cold medications only make the body dependent on those meds to recover from the cold. Meaning that they will be more prone to getting sick later and will need copious amount of the medication to recover again. If you let their body defeat the cold on its own then their body will have a much stronger immune system and they wont get sick as easily. And when they do get sick the cold will be very short lived.

Drink a lot of water, and eat Home made chicken soup.  With that nighttime, achy stuffy head, so you can rest medicine.

For sore throat I drink hot tea with honey. Honey is a natural cough suppressant and it's very soothing!

One of the best remedies is green tea,  with honey and lemon,  this helps sooth the sore throat and will help you feel better the fast without taking all the additive chemicals most medicines have
