What is good to take for a cold?

Anyone know anything that you can take without knocking you out for a cold? I tried severaly things but nothing seems to work for me or my grandkids. Any ideals?  Thanks

Drink water, eat fruits/veggies, exercise whenever you can, and sleep will cure the common cold.

there a lot of things that you can take to stop a cold. Try buckleys. Works like a charm!

I know you said no alcohol, but for you I would say a "hot totty".  For the kids, children's Niquel.

Vit B and C combined together. Over-dose 3 times a day for 3 days. drink a lot of water

Cut a lime in 2 or 3 and boil, drink the water - the hotter the better , add honey. Great tea for the common cold.

You can take Tynhol Cold and that will do wonders

when i have cold or my kids........... i usually take warm water mix a little lime and honey mix well and drink, atleast for 2-3 days... you will be fine.

I get a cold every winter (seems like one that last all winter) and I always take emergen-c, drink tea (just got something called Breathe Deep tea). I also run a humidifier and sometimes I'll put some tea tree oil in it.

@robin1128 - Claritan Reditabs.  I use those (at the moment) all the time when I have colds and then when I take 2/day (instead of 1), it goes away within 5 days..if I take 1 pill, it'll take 2 weeks to go away...I've tested on it...
