What would you do if your spose refused to let you work?
« on: April 04, 2011, 11:09:31 am »
I am a stay at home mom and I'm ready to get back into the work force. My spose feels as though he makes enough money to support our family but I figure we could always use more. I try not to complain, but sitting at home all the time is getting kind of old. What would you do in this situation?

I have worked most of my life.I am now a stay at home grandmother. He is on disability. So we are both here all the time. I don't really miss working, except the paycheck. But if he told me not to,guess what? I would do it anyway. Only because he told me not to.

Well with this economy, I don't think my spouse working on his own could make it. I would definitely have to help him. Yes, I would be mad if he tried to stop me from working. There's no way in hell I'm staying home all day long just doing house work. That would drive me insane. In turn, he would be insane because I would be driving him mad crazy when he comes home from work.

That would be the day. He would never do that. I have to admit, I'd be thrilled if he told me to stay home. But, at least right now, it really isn't an option as we depend on my paycheck too much. Maybe someday.

I would count my blessings and start a business from home.  No job could come close to being as satisfying as something you pick yourself and control how it's done.  There's never been a better or easier time to do it.

Where can I find a spouse like that?  Shot I wish I could stay home and not work.  If he doesn't want you to work outside the home there are still ways to make your own money.  Start a business from home, work online, do yard sales, flea markets.  Do chores for elderly neighbors for cash.  There are lots of things you can do for money that don't involve going out and working a 9-5 job.  If you are bored at home go volunteer, take classes, learn a foreign language, learn to play an instrument, go work out.  It's nice to have someone take care of all your bills but a woman needs her own money because you never know what might happen.

I would love it if my spouse refused to let me work. I would do whatever I please. I just hope that my spouse could afford it.

:angry7: Wow! A man that actually wants to take care of his family and support his woman. Lucky you, I wish I had a man that wants to take the load off. There's a lot of bums out here that don't even want to support their own children not alone a wife...I sure wouldn't miss dealing with a boss and annoying coworkers, coming home late in the afternoon, eating takeout cause I'm too tired to cook and then after a long 9 to 5, there's laundry and other cleaning to do. And what about those fun times when you have to go to work even when you have really bad cramps, back pain and a headache? Oh the good life!! Fun, fun ,fun...
