How to post a picture of my payment
« on: April 23, 2011, 03:25:19 pm »
I am having trouble finding a way to scan or take a photo of my first Fusioncash check so that I can receive credit for the "ONGOING PROMOTION: Post a picture of your payment". I tried scanning my first check that I just received today (!), but the Jpeg file is too large and I don't know how to shrink it or how to reproduce it in the posting box. I'm still learning how to do this stuff. Can anyone help me out?  :dontknow:

After you scan it, open the file in Paint. Then go to Resize (or stretch/skew) and enter in like 50% for both horizontal and vertical measurements. This will half the size of the picture. After it is small enough to be viewable on a forum post, go to File (Save As) and save it as a PNG. Then go to tinypic.com and upload it there. It will give you a web address of the picture that you can post in the forums.

Save it as a JPG if it's smaller in size than the PNG.

Thank you, boostx, for your helpful tutorial.

I finally found the entry by the Administrator in a related topic that had been recently posted and saw the reference to tinypic.com. I was able to follow your instructions and post my first check from FusionCash in the forum! Thanks again, boostx! I also ran across anotherfree site in my surfing called imageshack.us that works just as well as tinypic.com. Also, I found that if I choose black and white rather than color when I scan, that helps to reduce the size to more manageable proportions. Also, when using Paint, I tried shinking down to 25% and that works very well to give a final product that looks great in your post. So, I have re-posted my check, Removing my identifying info and am very pleased with the result.

It took some time to figure it all out the first time, but it was certainly worth the trouble! Thanks again for being so quick to assist!  :notworthy:

Yes its in the "MOVED: ONGOING PROMOTION: Post a picture of your payment, or what you bought - Get $1!" thread. You can visit the Payments forum to find this or just simply search it. It does take a while to get your dollar, also. Just make sure you follow all requirements.

And you are very welcome rbud!
