I recently moved and got a new phone number, and for the last  few months Citibank keeps calling for a man named Carl, I've told them several times that he doesn't live here, maybe I should tell him he's dead to spice it up a little? LOL!

I had to go through this once-cancelling cards for a deceased loved one.  There were only a few cards and for the most part they cancelled with a death certificate faxed to them.  One card, however (mind you the balance was about $100-just write it off for petes sake!!!) got my home phone number and called me repeatedly asking about an estate.  It was the biggest pain in the butt.  They finally gave up, but it was very upsetting to get phone calls all the time about it. 
Just one question, though-how the heck are you supposed to know when you're going to die so you can cancel your cards in advance???

but back when my mom passed in 05 pnc bank did the same thing to her. it was crazy, now over 3 years later ( she passed in jan) they still tryin to get money she owed. what i find funny is how cheap and messed up banks are.... my mom had had my gram use her debit card the day before she passed in the hospital to get pizza for us all at her house to eat as there was nothing there... after my gram placed the order it overdrawn my mom's account.... by get this.... .02! yes 2 cents... then they added on their 2 30.00 NSF fees and still tryin to get the money. i even remember telling them the one day there is no way i will pay it.. i will give you the 2 cents as that would of been depoed the next day if my mom has'nt passed and we were all upset. but no way am i payng them 60.00 bcause of 2 cents.. they nuts!

Yes they are nuts! The banks have you hook, line and sinker. They don't care, all they want is money.

It actually makes me angry that there are telemarketers and companies like this out there. Call-Tech being one of them, thanks God Compuserve went under and they don't do tech support for them anymore.

This is just a demonstration of the kind of stupidity that allowed the banks to run our economy into the ground. Still, they can't be all that stupid----governments and customers continue forking money over to them!!!!
