New Clothes After Baby -- How Long?

I just had a baby this week and NONE of my freakin jeans fit me, I am still stuck wearing like gouchos (sp?) and skirts and sweat pants.  I know it's going to take some time, but how long should I wait before it's official that I'm not going to be the same size as I was before I had the baby.  I have to admit, things were getting a little tight before I got pregnant so I'm sure I'll never fit into them again.  I'm 21 so my body is changing anyways, I just don't want to spend money on new jeans and come to find out I was impatient and my old clothes do fit me.
