Above ground pool: advice needed

For anyone who has or has had an above ground pool... I recently installed one and am beginning the set up process. any advice?

I really don't know a lot about the whole pool setting-up business, but when I got one for my kids when they were knee high to bullfrogs, I simply blew it up (I got a bit dizzy), then threw it out in the back yard and added a few pales of water.  They used if for about half a day then got bored, so I pored the water out, emptied the air out of it, and put it up in the attic.  When we moved, I left it there.

Of course if you're talking about one of those really BIG above ground pools, I'm gonna guess you'll need a garden hose and a whole lotta water.
