Daily Tasks

I completed a daily task on Saturday night and received credit for it
the task was available again yesterday and  today.

I went into the task on both days and received the message Thanks for helping us complete the task.

I have always been able to repeat a task when it was available the next day or 24 hours after completing the last task/

I then went into several other daily tasks and received the message Finished thanks for helping us.

I did send a support ticket

Have either of these things happened to anyone else?

I'm guessing the reason for it is that the task was pulled sometime after you completed it, then they posted it again a few days later - so it wasn't a new version of the task, it was the same task you had completed.  I know I was working a regular task also on Saturday on another site that indicates how many tasks are remaining (which is a nice feature), then when I attempted to work it a second time (as I know it usually allows you to work that task twice), it had disappeared and there were still more than 500 tasks available.  Then I saw it re-appear again sometime this morning.

Perhaps the task you are referring to is this one.  This happens occasionally, I've found.  Not too often, but once in a while.  Sometimes they get pulled because they accidentally launched it before they were supposed to, or there may be reports of significant errors where they pull it to fix them and then continue the task a few days later.

When that happens, figure this is what happened and wait for the next round.

I have also had issues with returning to a task 24 hrs later (most of the time it's longer) and have gotten the "Thank you..." message. I have also clicked on a daily task and they said the job was completed. Do they take the tasks off after so long? And if so, how long does it take for it to get taken off?

It is good for me as a newbie to  read all this question , answers and comments really that is great  for me!

Yep, got those. just means they received enough support for that task. have to move on to another.
