Just got back to this thread.
Thank you, SherylShado and noossab77. ;)
mawhite63, you gave a perfect example of what I am talking about and you have done it yourself.

Anyone else find it strange the OP has had nothing more to say to or about Amy? If I am going to run my mouth about someone, I am certainly going to have the guts and decency to come back and follow up on it.

$400/week a fortune? Mabye back in the 1940's, but not today. I don't know who this Amy Rouse is, but if she calls that a fortune, then wow.

It depends on where you live. If I was still in the Northeast, then $400 a week wouldn't go very far. Down here in the South where I'm living, $400 a week is very sustainable. If you live in a city that has great public transportation, you can even dump your car saving yourself the monthly car payment and insurance which will make things stretch even further.

Location is everything and if you do live in an area with good public transportation then 400/week would easily get you by. I'd call it a sustainable income, but not a fortune.

People should be grateful for what they have.   $400 might seem like nothing to some,  but it is a small fortune to someone that has nothing.
It's a "promotion" for someone that has been making less.
$400 a week means some poor, tired, single mother could work just one job a week instead of killing herself at three jobs... for minimum wage.
I know people that have lost their homes and they are "living out of their cars".  $400 a week would be appreciated by them.  I see them at least once a week, yet I've never heard any of them ever complain about their living conditions.  Winter came and then the summer heat, not one complaint.
I hear complaints from those working two or three jobs about how tired they are, yet they always brighten and say it's nice to have those minimum-wage jobs to pay the bills.
So when someone starts complaining about $400 a week---and it's more than alot of people are seeing these days, is it really a surprise there's not much sympathy from others?   :dontknow:

A small fortune?  That is relative to your geography and its economy.
For 99% of the worlds population you still earn enough to place you in the the worlds most wealthy.
That is FACT.  The US poorest of poor still live like kings and queens.

LOL, wow....have you ever looked at statistics for any of the Indian reservations? Take PineRidge for instance. It has ranked at the bottom of economic lists almost every year for decades. Google is your friend. Ignorance just makes you sound like a chump.

Depends on where you live. Maybe in a third world country. =p
As for in the US that is not much for a family but it is a sustainable amount.
Me and my boyfriend together make about $2700/mo (gross income) or $2200/mo (take home) with no kids.

It depends on what you're comparing it to. If you're comparing it to the ~American Dream~ then no it's not. If you're comparing to the rest of the world, it is.

But that said, I wish I made half of what you did. Also if you're unemployed and eating out 4 times a week, that's really bad money management. And like the others said, you should use better spelling/grammar and not be making whole threads complaining about comments that members made.

Wow... tough crowd on this topic. Without being judgemental, I agree with trying other online survey companies, or try mystery shopping. You won't make MILLIONS, but it's a little extra cash... come on people, let's not be so judgemental towards each other!!
