question about stars

Day 2 for me!  I have been spending a lot of time on the forum reading all the different posts.  I have noticed the stars and titles associated with each person's user ID, but have not been able to find the information about how these stars and titles are achieved.  Do they refer to length of time you've been a member or your amount of earnings or some other criteria?

I think it goes by the number of posts you've done.

Thanks, SouthernHorizons,  I didn't even think about that, but I see that you have a whole string of stars and hundreds of posts.  I'll have to get busy to accumulate all those stars!

Yeah it refers to the number of posts, which goes along with how long they have been a member.

  i think it goes by some sort of rating is when you touch on a good subject you get a good rating and for that rating is stars.

Ricky Southern is right it does have something to with the amount of posts you do. I am not sure of the amounts per star
