First Plane Ride
« on: August 07, 2011, 12:02:45 pm »
What was your first plane ride like?  My first plane ride was when I was in College and I flew Southwest Airlines from Lubbock to El Paso for the Christmas break.  Flying back they closed the airport because of snow (Lubbock at that time did not even have snow plows) and diverted us to Dallas where I spent the night curtosy of Southwest airlines at the Holiday Inn on Stemmons and flew back the next day into Lubbock.  Needless to say for an 18 year old it was a real adventure.

I don't remember my first plane ride, but love flying.
Most memorable was plane acting up on runway while taxing 3 minutes before taking off.
The computer crashed and we were delayed for 9 hrs till they found another plane to pick us up.
Got reduced rate and meals/drinks at the airport due to hassle ... Thank God I had my laptop and airport had Wifi or I would have gone nuts.

I remember I was around 6 and I was so excited and loved every second. I remember the takeoff was the best part. Then getting drinks and snacks on the flight was great too. Didn't like the airport though, too much chaos, so I was glad to be on the plane

Omg, my first plane ride came later in life. I have always been afraid to fly. The first time to Myrtle Beach I stopped in the doorway of the plane and panicked....I couldn't do it. I was taken into the cockpit like a child....lol to meet the pilots who tried to put me at ease. I couldn't wait to land, and when we did like an idiot I yelled we are going to crash!  :crybaby2: The second plane ride was this past March - 5 hours to Vegas. I was a little bit better, but still scared...maybe I will see if it's easier a third time!

A million years ago (I'm 58 and my one and only plane ride was when I was about 19) I flew the long flight  ;D between Atlanta Ga and Daytona Beach FL.  There was turbulance but they let me have alcoholic drinks so I guess that was a wash on bad first (and last) plane rides.  I have never flown since and used to be afraid to fly - now I am not really afraid but have no occasion to do so.

I was five years old and I flew by myself from North Carolina to Maryland.  I still have my unaccompanied minor tag in my scrapbook.  It was on Piedmont airlines.  I don't remember much about it but I remember not crying.  I've been flying ever since and now I am a flight attendant.

No clue because I was at least as young as 6, when I flew to my aunt's state to be the flowergirl in her wedding.  I've taken literally hundreds of flights since then, so they all kind of become a blur.   ;D

My first plane ride was to cancun for my senior class trip in high school. I liked looking at the clouds and seeing the clear blue water but was kind of scared when we seen an old airplane in the water.
