what doyou say when someone thinks they know everything

Out and out tell them..."those of you who think you know everything, are a pain in the *bleep* to those of us that do." That has shut some people up in my past.

With me I never say anything to people like that.  They like listening to themselves talk and they are an  authority on any subject.  In other words I don't listen to fools.

My mom is like that, she thinks she is always right.
I used to tell her but then she gets mad and then cries (menopause?) so I just ignore her now.

Some people are just hard headed and stubborn. And no matter how obvious a solution to a situation seems its always a little bit different if your the person watching from the outside in. I too have had MANY people tell me that they should have taken my advice, but thats just life ppl live and learn. And as far as your friend goes stop giving her advice. If she asks for it just tell her " why should i give you advice when you never listen to it anyway, so why should i waste my breath". It might get her to wake up a little lol. If not just play your postion as her friend and be ready to catch her when she falls ..again lol

i have a friend like this she will ask for my help and i give it to her and then she turns around and does exactally the oppiste i really give up and i mention it to her and she told me its because she is always right which she isn't and then when it back fires on her she tells me oh i should of listen to you i give up

Why wasting your time!  She never listen to you.  Just listen what she have to say and ignore!

My dad was like that. Even if I showed him documented proof he was wrong about something, he was still right. So I got to the point where I would just say "whatever you say" or I'd roll my eyes at him and say nothing.

As for friends, you can choose how much you want to communicate with them, if at all. So if she asks for advice again just say "well what do you think" and if she says she wants your input just tell her you have none and try to change the subject. If shes one of those where only her issues matter and she won't talk to you about anything else (like about your life) even if shes not following your advice at all, then she's just wanting someone to tell her she's right all the time and listen to her talk.
That means she's not a friend and you're wasting your time and just frustrating yourself keeping her in your life.
