This is what I do>>> If something doesn't sit right with me from what a doctor said I either do my own research or get a second opinion from another doctor. Always remember your body is yours and it is totally depending on YOU to protect it. the doctors are there to get paid.

Chinese medicine has been around for 2 thousand years. Do a search online. holistic healing is worthwhile. Dr Michael Tierra has helped me.
A friend told me about some herbs; they helped; when I mentioned that to the doctor, she said that doctors don't study that.
but of course ! they would lose so much money if they used herbs, like AIDS medicine cost $1,000,000 per year some people if people use herbs they would the people in medicine would loose that $1,000,000 or more.

It's really sad when doctors don't listen. My mom had parathyroid disease in her 20s. I explained that to my former doctor, who told me I must be mistaken because that only happens when one is around 60. Yet, my mom had 2 parathyroid surgeries before she was 60- one before I was even conceived! Some docs must have gone to school to become docs only for the money, rather than actually caring about their patients!

You can find me on Youtube!

I went into perimenopause the year I turned 38, the same age my mom was when she had me.  She had been in perimenopause for years before she had me, but they didn't recognize it or even group the symptoms together in the 50's.  I knew exactly what was happening since I had always been quite regular, then suddenly became irregular.  My symptoms increased rapidly and became rather scary since I experienced flooding.  Here's what I found helpful.

"Menopause, The Silent Passage" by Gail Sheehy

Vitex (Chaste Tree Berry), an herbal supplement that balances your hormones.  I took one a day, then a kinesiologist told me I could take more than one when threatened with flooding.  It worked beautifully.

Wild Yam, an herbal progesterone.  If you're experiencing rages, weepiness and/or anxiety, chances are you're not producing enough progesterone any more.  Wild Yam will get you back in balance.

Dr Christian Northrup, she has a website and has written books on women's health.  She has also lectured on PBS.  She's where I first found out one can have too much estrogen instead of a lack of it.  I absolutely love her.

I avoid soy products since they have estrogen, but I still eat meat and black beans.  Do not cook in plastic containers since they leach into the contents and it turns into estrogen in our bodies.

Stress reduction is also helpful, but hard for me to maintain these days.

My perimenopause lasted twelve years.  The first year and the last week of it were the worst.  Since then I've had three years of low progesterone, but finally seem to be leveling out.  I still have three phases though:  high estrogen (panic attacks), high testerone (whiskers) and balanced, but they are mild.

Remember you know your body best.  Listen to your intuition, do your homework and if you need to see someone find someone who listens to you and respects your self knowledge.  Modern doctors often forget or are not taught to listen to their patients.

Hope this helps.   :peace:

there are things you can do at home to help...using products you have at home.  look in the book on home remedies and you'll soon start noticing good changes.

GNC may have it.  Do you have any natural grocers or herb shops?  The Sunflower Market and Whole Foods chains carry it.  I'm sure you could get it online too.  It's not expensive, about $8 for a bottle of 100.

Not sure i spelled it right, but i know my body and it is all out of whack and my dr doesnt believe me ,any good search areas i can find to do research for home relief?

It's tough to find a good doctor that can help with hormones.  I would suggest a gynecologist or an endocrinologist.  My OB/GYN was able to test to see what hormones...estrogen, progesterone and testosterone...were showing up in my blood.  None of them were because I had a complete hysterectomy when I was younger.  I couldn't take the typical HRT that a doctor would prescribe.  Some women who are menopausal need estrogen but others need progesterone more.  If you can't connect with a good doctor sometimes you can help yourself.  If you're having hot flashes you need estrogen and Black Cohosh is an herb that many women use to supplement estrogen.  Wild Yam is good for those who need progesterone.  Good luck with it all!
Have a great day!
