Blue Angels or Thunderbirds
« on: October 10, 2011, 02:45:20 pm »
The leading attraction to most air shows is usually the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds.  Which aviation performance team do you prefer.  I tend to enjoy the show that the Blue Angels put on over the Thunderbirds.

I really don't know which I prefer. It's always years between the shows that I forget what happened at the last show.

You can find me on Youtube!

Blue Angels are my favorite. I got a picture standing by number 7 jet up in Alaska a few years ago when they were performing up there. Those beautiful blue with yellow stripe/detailing paint jobs make them stand out. I use to watch them practice a day before the air shows on Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. My office was just a couple blocks from the flight line. We got a lot of free "shows" right out our windows. The acrobatic maneuvers they do are basic flight training acts that every pilot is trained for. It's impressive however when you put them all together and perform in sync. We had a Flight Commander on base who would take every plane up after maintenance before he let his men get back into it. He was always doing the same maneuvers the military performers did during the air shows. I watched him many times take the jet through it's paces just like an acrobatic pilot.

I like the Blue Angels a little better too. They're fantastic.

Annella,
I hope you will see this in the forum and come in here.  My computer went down for several days.  I lost almost all my email contacts, as well as parts of my hard drive.  My younger son had to go in and reformat my computer from the beginning when I first got it.  Could you please send me your email?  I know the first part; just not sure of the dot _____.  Thanks!  Hope you're doing fine!

Julie  :)

I've only seen thr Blue Angels and the Canadian Snowbirds at an airshow in Abbottsford BC several years ago.  They were both great.  If I remember right the Snowbirds were red and white and flew 10 planes which was a few more than the Blue Angels.

I'm not familiar and have never seen the Thunderbirds, but I have enjoyed a Blue Angels performance and amazed by their synchronization (seen a couple in my lifetime).
