American Horror Story
« on: October 10, 2011, 06:58:30 pm »
A drama/horror/thriller about a family of three who move from Boston to Los Angeles as a means of reconciling their past anguish.

What do you think about this show if you've seen it?

The pilot was decent.

I just watched the pilot today after recording it and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I think it is a refreshing change from some of the other stuff that is on television. It will be interesting to see if the story can sustain itself based on the horror elements already shown or if they have to keep adding things to keep the story alive. I am definitely looking forward to more!

I was looking forward to catching this one, but it got cut off.  I'm trying to catch it again when it replays tonight and tape tomorrow's ep - then watch both on the weekend.  Good to hear others think it has potential.

I don't take scary things too well.
Have a wonderful day!

I wanted to watch this pilot but forgot about it.  It looked good, kinda like the old show "American Gothic" that was on in the 90s.........I hope they have a repreat of it so I can catch it.

This show is beyond awesome!  Last wk, my daughter bought me an EVO as a combo birthday/Xmas present and I was so involved getting to know the phone I missed the episode. But they did an encore last night, so I got to see it. Sad that the family are now ghosts, but I guess it was inevitable.

i just finished the season finale today.
at first, i loved it... it was very different and it's shot
really well. the acting is decent too.

after a few episodes, it started to get over-the-top.
(it was always a little over the top, which was exciting)
but so many crazy, dramatic things happen all at once
that i started to get a little "eh" with it...but some people
like that.

it ended on a good note, though. i'm not sure what the
writers could come up with for next season? everything
that could happen, has! lol.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

Doesn't sound like something I would be interested in.  Is it another reality show?
Have a wonderful day!

No it isn't a reality show, more of a horror/scary drama. I have 5 or 6 episodes to catch up on because my husband doesn't watch it, so we've been watching the other stuff we both enjoy. Like cloud said, I have gotten kind of bleh about it here in the middle. There are so many different story lines, I just want some answers! I do plan to finish it, but it will have to pick it up if they expect me to keep watching next season.

I really enjoyed the whole season.  All of the things that happened near the end have me wondering what they're going to do for the next season.  Looking forward to seeing it. :)

I watched the pilot. I really had to cajole the people I wanted to watch with into it - even the ones that like horror didn't seem interested! :sad1:
I ... don't like horror :p
So the pilot was meh to me. I don't like watching stuff alone, but hey, if you guys say it's good, even with a mid-season slump, I think I'll try it again. I keep seeing good comments on it, just wish I could get anyone else interested in it too!
Maybe I should just find some online friends to "watch" with me :P

I saw the first episode with my fourteen year old daughter and was quite glad that it was being played later at night (11:00 PM Denver time).  I thought that it was a bit risque for younger eyes.  I didn't let my twelve year old son watch it.  It was somewhat erotic but quite well done and scary.  The acting was really good and I thought the story was intriguing...it followed me into my dreams.  I may try to pick upa DVD of the entire season's show.
