How do you go about getting referrals

I use Facebook and Twitter to post my payment proofs. That way I'm not spamming it up, and people are seeing that I'm actually getting paid.

I get referrals from word of mouth, my blog, safelists, and traffic and referral exchange programs. I also have business cards made up, and I leave them around at places like grocery stores, laundromats, etc.

Persistence- keep putting the information out there.
Patience - some will, some won't, so what.
Proof - stick with it and prove it works.

As of today 48, and 29 of those have given me a bonus. None have cashed out yet, though. Getting new referrals is something that is slow, and you have to keep plugging away at it.

They work for traffic... as far as getting the traffic to turn into signups, that all depends on whoever is picking up the card.

I've started printing my own business cards using an Avery template, and I use different http://bit.ly links so that I can track them to see which designs are working to get traffic.

I leave them around different places. Here's something funny - a good place that I get traffic from is women's restrooms LOL. I slide the card under the purse hook on the door. You sort of have a captive audience that way!
