hello ...I'm new here and for some reason I cant find a profile builder, where I can add a pic and an "about me " section...is there not such a thing here or is it right in front of my face... please help!

I think you have found the basic profile for the Forum which provides limited information and a picture you want to display as "you".
More than that (ie typical of a social network site) is not part of FC.

Like swogden said this is different than social networking so there isn't an About Me section of your profile, but if you go to where you added your photo [select Profile from the green bar above, then select Forum Profile Information] you can add your birthdate, location, gender, a signature and a website URL.
