Black Friday Shopping

I have to work every year on black Friday and I see all the people out shopping on my way to work. Is there anyone out there that is one of those people? How are you successful verses everyone else that is oout there at that time.

You have to have a strong constitution, be able to go without sleep and be willing to use your elbows. Other than that it is a blast.

Definitely staying out of the stores on Black Friday.  If you are going to shop, why not shop online?  As for me, I'm all with the Occupy movement this year - boycott on Black Friday.  Not that I normally shop on Black Friday anyway.

Plus there's also shop small businesses on saturday and cyber monday too.

I often wonder if people who shop Black Friday really get good deals.  I did it years ago, standing in line for hours and I ended up coming out of the store with nothing.  All the good deals were nowhere to be found.  I was very disappointed.  I keep it simple now, gift cards and movies for the kids.  Pictures taken of the kids(scenic places around the area) for Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles.

It looks to me like many of the stores are offering some of the same deals online that people will be waiting in line to get.

I often wonder if people who shop Black Friday really get good deals.  I did it years ago, standing in line for hours and I ended up coming out of the store with nothing. 

I caught a story in the media yesterday that the big tv offer that one of the stores is offering is going to be impossible to get, unless you were already lined up before now. They're only receiving TEN of them at each location!

Personally, I've never shopped on Black Friday and never will. People are crazy about saving money.

They only stock so many per store and so the odd of you getting a deal if you are not one of the few first in line.

I had a friend to does Black Friday shopping occasionally and last year she got a good deal on a TV.  I, myself, try to avoid stores as much as I can during regular times, so I'm not going anywhere near them tomorrow (or later tonight for some of those stores...just crazy...).

Black Friday is the biggest scam of the year. Most people are encouraged to go out & spend their hard earned money on stuff that's not really a deal, or even worse, they don't really want it. How are these stores going to make money selling discounted merch? Discount a "couple" items & get the rest of the them to buy their overpriced crap. Because they waited in line &/or traffic so long, they might as well buy it something. Hook, Line, Sinker.
