@Icekitty: I'm not an expert, but you may have clicked to allow the toolbar to replace your default search when you installed it. Depending on how the link was constructed this could result in a going to the FreeCause search page. (on the bright side it's probably adding to your search count )
I've done probably about 6-7 of these tasks so far and the interface is pretty good. It's shorter and more straightforward. The only thing that could be a little clearer is to indicate to us that we're entering into a "new task". For example, one of the task pays 7 cents for every 2 panes you clear. It should indicate to you a little better that you have completed your 2 panes and additional ones you complete will be counted toward another 7 cents.
I also have a comment about the European logo Daily Task. It's REALLY REALLY REALLY hard. Not too many of those stations are coming up in search. I even tried to take advantage of the system and go into the European Google sites, like google.de to get some of the German ones but was still unable.
Whatever you're been credited will remain if you uninstall/reinstall. If you have searched for example 3 times out of the 4 necessary for a 1c credit, then you will probably lose just those 3 searches. Hope that makes sense...
@gafee2001.....
Now that I think about it, I think you're right. I remember having a problem when I installed the toolbar, because a box popped up giving me choices to either allow or not allow the toolbar to be used for searches, and I unchecked the boxes, but there was no "Ok" or "Submit" button and the pop up box wouldn't go away so I had to close down my browser. When I opened it back up again, the toolbar was installed.
This toolbar, unlike the others I have installed, doesn't the "Toolbar Options" when you right-click on it. I'm just wondering if I were to uninstall & reinstall if I would lose the current searches I've done? Admin, can you let me know the answer to this??
Admin.....
Ok, I finally got around to uninstalling/reinstalling the toolbar BUT, am having some strange issues. First of all when I uninstalled the toolbar it reinstalled itself!!! Then, the box that comes up that allows you to "customize" the installation didn't have a "submit" button at the bottom or anywhere (see image below), so therefore I didn't bother selecting "Custom Settings" and unchecking boxes for items I didn't want. The box is just cut off at the bottom....I can scroll down, but there's no "Submit" button at the bottom there either. The only way I could even get this box to go away was to restart my computer.
Just as a reminder, the reason I needed to reinstall was for doing the specific task "Search for Terms and Record the Results", which requires you to do searches in Google & Bing, but when I open Google and click on a result it takes me to a Free Cause search page and that's because I can't get the custom settings to "take" when I install the toolbar.
Now, I'm trying to do this in Firefox....does that have anything to do with it??
