Using FC from two different IPs
« on: December 12, 2011, 06:36:16 am »
I sometimes have some downtime at work. Would I be able to use FC from my work's IP address and also at my home IP address when I'm at home? I know FC is strict with the IP stuff, so I wanted to ask before doing it.

yes you can do that.  i do it all the time.  i work from home mostly, but when i have downtime at work, i get on fusioncash there at work at well.  you just can't have 2 accounts going at the same time.

Yes, im pretty sure you can use FC from multiple IPs as long as your account is the only one to use FC on those IPs..

BUT you might want to think about the RISK you would be taking. If ANYONE else at your work ever logged into FC on their account, it would show up as you both logged in on the same IP, thus having 2 accounts linked to 1 IP, which more then likely would terminate both of your accounts. This is why FC reccomends not logging in on a public network, because if you log in at a public place, say a library, a coffe shop, a work place office, ect.. you have no guarentee that noone else hasnt already, or wont in the future, also log in to their own FC account..
If I was you I wouldnt risk it.

Don't do it, unless you want to risk losing your account.

I wouldn't dare trying you will be terminated from this site and any money you may have earned will not be granted to you,

I guess I can understand the concern of using two different IPs on this site.  I am not exactly sure what the rules say about it, I haven't read up on it lately, but it probably is safer to stick to one address since there are various sites out there that absolutely forbid the use of multiple IPs. As far as using the site at work, perhaps FC can impliment something where you can register the IP addresses that you would use (up to two or maybe three if your lucky) and accept your work from those IPs. Not sure if they would do it though, so if there are any doubts stick to your home computer until you talk directly with FC staff. Hope that helps.  :cat:

Well in the terms it clearly states that you are not supposed to use any public computers.  Because someones could already be using FC from that same IPs so unless you want to risk losing your account, I would not recommend it.

well like at my work, no one is allowed to use my computer but me, so i'm good.  my computer is not a shared computer.  it is my own personal computer.  i have been using the same fusioncash account on both computers for a long time.  it just depends on the situation.

It's not the computer that causes the problem, it's the router your connect through and my guess is you are using your companies WII-FI to get online, which puts you at risk.

Its not the computer it self that matters, that has ZERO effect.. its the IP address.. like example: I have my laptop and so do 2 other people Im living with plus theres a desktop computer, all different computers but all the same IP so no, I cannot have an account while someone on one of the other computers has their own, we'd be banned.
Your computer at work most likely is using the same router/wifi as all the others (unless your paying for internet at work out of your own pocket) so your just as at risk as if it was a shared computer, if anyone that uses that ip (router / wifi connection) logs into FC (from ANY computer), it WILL show as 2 accounts on the same IP. You can use your account at 2 or more locations without a problem, just as long as your the only one at each location, and if its at work, escepicaly an office with alot of people on a lot of computers (regardless of if its individual person computers or not) its a big risk.
