The term Christmas movies normally makes me cringe, but I have to give the vote to Jim Carey's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". It was truly enjoyable and sometimes a bit creepy but it is Jim Carey as the Grinch. He was extra crude, rude, and a total creep. Some of the back story the movie gave him was boring, and the one song sung by the little girl was way, way too long, but I still liked it. It was a huge improvement over the animated Grinch movie. I liked the fact that they gave a glimpse into why the Grinch was the way he was, but if they had cut it down it would have been better. I don't know of any other Christmas movie I found truly memorable, there are those dime a dozen lifetime movies where some single guy or gal finds true love or whatever, and the only reason one watches them is because there is absolutely nothing on.
Now that I think of it there may be another movie I really like, and that is The Nightmare before Christmas. Question is, is it a Christmas movie or a Halloween movie. I normally see it aired around Halloween, considering its a movie about Halloween creatures in a Halloween town, but I wonder if those programmers realize that it does take place during the Christmas season. I mean, they do kidnap "Sandy Claws".
I'm a bit confused now, so I'll toss both those titles up in the air for you.
