So birthday on Leap Year...when do you celebrate it?
« on: February 20, 2012, 01:41:28 pm »
I have a friend whose birthday is on leap year.  I joke with her that technically she only turns a year older every four years.   She celebrates her birthday on the 28th of Feb. because it's in the same month that she was born.  When do you/your friend celebrate it?

I have great nieces that are going to have their 4th real birthdays. They use to celebrate with their older sister whose birthday is March 6th but now its on the week-end closest to their birthday.

My dad and stepmom got married on leapyear, and they only celebrate every 4 years but they have a big party, so it kinda makes up for it!

I was having this discussion with my husband. I would celebrate it on March 1st on non leap years. That way it is still the same day if you were to count the number of days: 60th day of the year.
