Can a person simultaneously hold a morally right intention and an ethically bad decision?

It happens all the time. Our last president had the morally good intention of transforming Iraq into a Jeffersonian democracy. He took an ethically bad decision to invade this country, despite the fact that weapons inspectors such as Scott Ritter declared that Iraq was not a threat and that Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction had already been destroyed, a truth that was verified after the invasion. This decision resulted in the deaths of least 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians,  the displacement of an additional 2 million, and the loss of nearly 5,000 of our brave soldiers. Iraq is finally moving towards stability and democracy, but most of the Iraqis who have lost loved ones in this unnecessary war, and those who are now homeless exiles in Syria, would say that they'd just as soon NOT have been "liberated," thank you very much.

Depends on the individuals morals. Sometimes what one person considers moral another may not.  :angel12:

Sure! That's how America was born wasn't it? We have/had intentions to be the greatest nation in the world. The actions executed to achieve this goal may not have been ethical but hey, a few toes stepped on never hurt anyone right?
