Changing the clocks...
« on: March 11, 2012, 12:05:45 am »
So do we wish they would leave the time alone so we don't have to mess with changing our clocks, or do we like the time changes?

I'm on Mountain Standard time and I know I lose an hour.  I'm still trying to figure out what time it is now.  Do our computers and cell phones automatically change?

That's my way of saying I'd like them to leave it alone, too.

Have a great day!

I wish they would leave it alone.  It never made any sense to me, that we had to change the time.  So we have a little more light in the evenings, big deal.  Just decide whether we want the extra light in the morning or the evening and then leave the time alone.   As far as computer and phone, mine changes automatic.

I would love to have my 1 hour sleep but it is not going to happen.  The days are longer in the spring and summer, and it gets darker later in the evening.

Time changes are good times. It gives us more time in the daylight which is always really nice.

I wish "they" (whoever they are) could create a system where it stays lighter at night all year as opposed to getting dark at like 430 pm in the winter.  That is depressing and add the cold from the Northeast it lends it itself to not being productive.  Not sure why it is necessary to have it be light super early in the morning.

the day is longer and you save a hour of electricity, plus in the summer you have for daylight for your outdoors

I have love spring ahead but I hate fall back. I need lots of sun! Yes, the time change does screw me for about a week but if it means longer days I'm all for it! :peace:

I think the best "day" would be sunrise at 6am and sunset at 8:30pm.
Someone I was talking to said there would still be a natural shift in light. So, let it be. I  agree.
You can see your way in the morning going to work (in winter, when it's dark, you can't see the ice on the roads up north).
I remember walking to the bus stop walking in the street trying to avoid ice. I hadn't a chance at 5:30 am to check the weather. I slipped and got the wind knocked out of me. I was able to get up, catch my breath and proceed to take the trip to work!
You can enjoy doing something after dinner in the evening when it's still light.

I wish they'd leave it in this new "spring ahead" mode. I need my sunlight and I'm sure most other people do too! In fact, studies have shown that lack of sunlight affects your mood negatively.

Here's the thing that bugs me too is that the US "extended" daylight savings to start earlier. Some other countries have adopted our earlier start, but not all, so now there's inconsistent time zones. When you communicate with people all over the world, it's kind of a pain!

I don't like the time change the day of, but in the long run, I do enjoy light longer in the evening.
Spring is coming!!!
My husband woke me up thinking I was late this morning, but I had changed my alarm last night, so much for sleeping in!

Yes the computers and cell phones change themselves thankfully! :)
