have you tried signing up for a free state health insurance? they go based on your income, i had that for a while and now my son is on it no matter what until he's 5 then i have to re-apply for him. but i'm in oregon i'm not sure what your state does

Wow! I am so sorry.  I know how that feels.  I had to go without insurance for several years and because of pre-existing conditions no one would even accept me.  I now have a policy through the state, but it is certainly not free or based on my income!  It is very expensive.  I don't know what the answer to all this mess is, but it sure it a mess!

It is awful to have to worry about it especially when you can't even get it when you can pay for it.

I hope you stay well and can get coverage back soon.

I am so sorry to hear about your news. These are such tough times and there are many of us without insurance now due to job loss.  You and your husband will certainly be in my thoughts as I wish better for us all.  Yes, as one of the other members suggested, perhaps there is a state program that you and your husband are eligible for. I know lots of states have them and perhaps you all will qualify. Best of luck to you both!

I would do whatever it took to get insurance. With medical issues like that if you go without you might not be able to get coverage later. I have a pre-existing condition and pay quite a bit, but I keep raising my deductible so I can afford it. Better than the alternative.
