Offers with Trial Period question
« on: March 02, 2009, 09:30:36 am »
I am wondering about the offers that you have to sign up for a trial period? Has anyone done these. My concern is most say if you don't cancel after before the 5/7/14 day trial period ends you'll be charged anywhere from $29.00 - $59.50 on some. If you have to remain a member for the trial period, and can't cancel before the trial period ends per the offer obligations how to avoid being charged? TIA

Is it wise to sign up for trial periods? I have found that at midnight when the trial period end, payment starts immediately and you are charged.

Use a paypal secure mastercard. order their trial and pay the s/h fee or refundable processing fee and then close the card immediately to be sure they won't charge you again. Whether or not you want to cancel is up to you. But as long as they are not able to charge you they can not deliver you future shipments.

Is it nice to close the card like that?  I have a new outlook on even doing them, if you aren't going to keep the membership why sign up.

Is it nice to charge your card after you cancel? Closing the card protects you from fraudulent companies that would try to scam and charge you after you cancel.

You're missing the point: the OP wants to be safe either way and closing the card will stop them from charging that card again. If the OP decides to keep the membership, then why worry about canceling before the trial period, which is the OP's concern.

I don't see anywhere it says you have to remain a member for the trial period AND can't cancel before the trial period ends.

Heres the best thing to tell you. Don`t sign up unless your interested in the offer. All the offers i sign up for i keep after the trial. Most companys want you to try there product thats why they have this taking surveys.
