Why drink?
« on: May 04, 2012, 05:26:09 am »
When I go on facebook allot of tmes people say "YAY the weekend, time to drink" To ME booze is the devil n the bottle and causes many problems. if you're drinking to "ESCAPE" your problems, hellooooooooo they are still going to be there after that little BUZZ wears off....it's so sad when the younger crowd goes out and drinks and drives, only to either Godforbid kill someone or kill themselves :( ONE can have soooo much fun without the liquor and guess what, REMEMBER the fun they had after ....just my thoughts!!

Hi Krissi79, in my younger days  had many friends that drank but  chose NOT to. they use to call me a "party pooper" but I ddnt care I just dont like liquor...anyways as the years went on and they looked waaaaaay older then our ages due to all that booze...a couple have said to me GINNY we just wanted to say how much we admired you for NOT drinkng and following the crowed... I was shocked I always thought that they thought I was some "NERD" "DWEEB" or whatever words we use to say back then lol.....anyways why i'm saying this I havent a clue...but try hun just sitting back and watching your friends make A$$ES out of themselves it's kinda humorus lol...but I loved them all still

it can be a social thing who knows. drinking isnt that all bad you just gotta limit the problem.. if you drink 24/7 hell you need help but in other cases i call it fun and hanging out type of thing

Not everyone who drinks is an alcoholic. Sometimes people drink just to loosen up and have fun with friends and to relax. There's nothing wrong with it in moderation. A little wine has even been shown to be good for your health. And a little brandy is good for a sore throat.

Living with an alcoholic mother and a father that held his booze well, too, I've vowed to never let any sort of liquor touch my lips. I've seen it destroy too many families for it to be at all glamorous to me. Right on! :star:

I have never gotten drunk before in my entire life and don't ever plan on it. However, every now and then, especially if it's a celebration, I will drink a glass of wine or get a frozen cocktail. To me getting drunk is not worth it.

Drinking is something that has never been something I've been real into but I do agree with the above statement. Drinking's fine in moderation, you just have to know where to draw the line. I've only had 3 drinks since turning 21 (and I'll be 25 in July) and they were enjoyable.

i never drink to get drunk, never have.  then again i rarely drink in any form of alcohol.  there are a few that i enjoy the taste of but have never seen the purpose of getting drunk.  what good is saying its fun if you're going to be sick the next day.  really doesnt seem worth it.
