I am almost 100% positive that no matter where you go, you'll have issues. Scenic wise I absolutely love Colorado, you get the best of everything, some days we have all four seasons! The only other place I've been to that I said ok maybe I could live for a bit, but of course would come back to CO, is Boston.

I must admit that I am a warm weather person but I do believe that south Florida is Paradise. The sun, seashore, palm trees and weather make it wonderful in my eyes. Just like anywhere you have to be aware of the type of neighborhood. However, the schools are quite good and there are many free things for kids to do. Good luck! :)

what place in the united states is the best place to live in the states for a family?

That is an impossible to answer question, since every person has different criteria for what place is 'best'. Someone mentioned a rural area with no industrial pollution and I would agree that scenario is great, but NOT so great if you have kids which it sounds like you do since you wrote 'family'. The drawback to rural places is the necessity of being 'forced' into driving kids to almost every place they want to go. I don't know many preteens/teenagers who would be thrilled at the thought of being stuck in the boonies during free time. On the other hand, small kids thrive when they have the option of exploring new places/new things - creeks, rivers, woods, fields and all the really cool creatures that live there. :D I have been down that road myself and all was beyond great until my boys got older, Mom and Dad were no longer enough distraction (or cool enough ;D), but the fairer sex roaming the mall 35 miles away was 'enough'!
I say sit down with your family, pick a number of places you are interested in, and then make a list of pros and cons for each place. Just keep in mind how things will be different as your family gets older. ;)
You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.
