City Council

Has anyone ever been on a city council?  I've been asked to run in the fall election.  I feel like I could handle the issues well, and I enjoy learning the different view points of individuals and situations.  But I don't know if the position truly is worthy?  Like other than a monthly meeting, what does a city council person do?

Do some homework and figure out what it is you are supposed to be doing.  If you have a reason to run and are comfortable doing the work, then give it a go.
