Yes I do. They easiest way to make your car last is to change the fluids when recommended.  It's very important to keep up with routine maintenance for your car.  A few dollars now will save thousands of dollars later.  I am faithful about the recommended services for my car.  If you don't take care of your car you will end up with expensive repairs in the long run.  Not changing oil can lead to engine problems.  Blow out an engine if you want to.

5,000 miles is my outside limit before an oil and filter change. I watch for coupons and I can usually get it done for under $20. Sometimes I need to wait a little longer at the oil change place with a coupon but I just take my laptop or a good book with a cup of coffee. Don't let them sell you other stuff unless you KNOW you really need it.  :)

I don't really drive that far so I am usually OK with getting my oil changed once a year when I get my car inspected.

I think now you can go about 5000 depending on how you drive and how far or fast you put on the miles. I am due for one now actually and yes I try to keep up with them

now the typical recommended oil change is 5000 miles or 5 months, whichever comes first. Even if you don't drive that many miles, if you drive your car everyday, you still pick up a lot of trash in your oil that can damage your engine. I only drive about 5000 miles a year on my car, and I change my oil (myself--of course ) 3 times a year. You can go up to 10000 miles if you use synthetic oil, but should at least change your oil filter at the halfway point (5k miles, or 5 months out of 10). The reason for this is that synthetic oil doesn't break down like conventional oil, but you still get dirt and stuff that can damage your engine, so changing the filter will clear that out, but you'll save 25 bucks on the oil. It costs me $22 to change my own oil ($16 for the oil and $6 for the filter at walmart), so i have no reason not to keep up with the oil changes.

I'm not the best at getting it in to the shop at the exact mileage but I do try to get it done in a reasonable amount of time/mileage.

We're pretty good about it...it'll go a little over, but not much. It's just not worth it in the end!

Yes, it is of utmost importance to get oil changes especially if you want to keep your car up and going for a very long time. I don't always do it every 3 months or 3000. I usually change it at 5000 miles or before if car is sluggish. I was having it changed every 3000 miles but since the cost of oil changes has went up I wait til 5000, unless it is on sale and then I will go for the sale price. My car has over 215,000 miles on it and it is because I get it serviced as often as I can afford to.

Yes, I get oil changes on a regular basis because along with the oil change comes a safety inspection. If they find something wrong with your vehicle...they will let you know.
