It's not FC, it's your computer.  Scan for malware, virii, trojan hijackers, etc..
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I ran the scans and nothing came up. :-( i can do all the other things on this website just not the ones under the FC survey section. is there another reason this might be?

Your standard scans may not reveal register-redirecting trojans, (or any newer malware if you haven't update your virus protection).  Since others haven't reported such problems with FC surveys, the alternative is that there is some unknown problem at your end.

Sounds like a virus....scan your computer. Someone else on here said the same type of thing and she found out it was a virus.

I use free Avast and get similar messages on a lot of PTC sites and the ads they have available.  Avast blocks the particular banners/ads that they have defined as dangerous.  I also get that particular message via IE.

While I haven't gotten that message when checking out the FC surveys, (I don't do them often), the fact that you are getting them means your security software may be too restritive in it's definition.  OR you may have a virus/trojan/malware on your pc that is generating this message.

I had that occur and had a dickens of a time identifing it and removing it.  Believe I got rid of it via the latest update of Malwarebytes.

The malware I had looks like (Microsoft) Security Shield asking you to check you PC because of a potential virus problem -- looks very real -- until it asks you for money to run the scan.   Problem is that if you see this, it's already on your computer.

Before I was able to remove it, however, it was generating this red warning page on almost every site I accessed (including FC) and it would not let up. I had no choice but to find a way to remove it.  I had a threads in Support about this awhile back.

Here's the link to the thread that discusses the virus:

Here's the link to a related thread that discusses more of my efforts to remove it:

I have never had anything like this happen. It seems like other members are giving you good advice. You might also open a support ticket and ask administrator. Do you have a support number for your computer or software? If so, I would give them a call.  :dontknow:

I use Linux instead of Windows, so that never happens.

"(Mar. 27, 2003):
Do you really need to install antivirus software on your LinuxOS-based computer? You just might. The topic of computer viruses and Linux has caused considerable discussion in recent weeks. Mixed computing environments, servers, and growing market share all increase the risk of Linux as a target and vehicle for malicious viruses.

Currently there are under 100 native Linux viruses known but in many organizations the fact that a Linux viruses exists is enough reason to install and use Linux antivirus protection on Linux desktops and servers."

You are missing one HUGE factor, I only use Linux for surfing the net and gmail, so if I did get a virus it would take me a few minutes to reinstall it and be back in business. All my gmails would still be there.

Nothing was missed since I could reformat my windows-based O.S. and achieve the same result.  The point of mentioning an overlooked problem with Linux is mixed-use/cross-platform internet environments.  Yes, both Linux and win-pc users can reformat & reinstall however, that's after malware/virii infection, (not as a protective measure).
