How the mighty hath fallen - again.  I really hate to hear these stories.  It is always so sad to find out when our "heroes" have feet of clay.  And it is a terrible blow to kids who hold these athletes in such high regard.  What is it teaching them?

Well they have to keep clean because it's known that the scrutiny is there always. Parents need to teach that although a person a great at a sport doesn't mean they're immune from being a mere mortal.

I think he is innocent but just got tired of fighting for a losing battle.  Sad indeed for all the kids that look up to him but I think he is just fed up with the fight.

He has never failed a drug test, so I tend to agree.  It did not seem to matter what he said or how many tests he took, they did not believe it.       [color]

I think that it is teaching them that no matter how many drug tests you have passed, how many times you have been exonerated from wrong doing, how much good you are doing for the public after crushing a life threatening disease, you are guilty until proven innocent.  This witch hunt has gone on for over twenty years!  Now USADA wants to rely on the word of people that have probably been given immunity to testify against one of the best atheletes out there?  I agree with Lance...enough is enough...there are enough people that will always herald him as the greatest bicyclist ever.  Shame on the governing bodies.

The problem is that they never proved that he doped. Someone stated he did but, he never failed a test. It is a bad day when You get your titles stripped!! I guess you don't have to prove anything anymore, your are just guilty because he was not liked by alot of the foreign Bikers, they thought he wasn't deserving of the titles. I guess I can say my neighbor is a peeping tom and he will get arrested, just because I don't like him.
It is getting crazy these days. I don't have a problem if he was doing enhancement drugs to put him out of the sport but, he had taken over 100 tests over his career and never once came up positive.!!What happened to proven guilty.

The governing body of cycling says he has failed tests.  Also steroids may lead to testicular cancer.
Armstrong is best know for the work he has done for cancer... Imagine if he gace himself that cancer with steroids.

Then if thats true, why not halt him in the beginning of his career? Why would they let him win title after title? If he EVER had failed a test then its their fault for letting him go on to win the races.

What is upsetting to me is the fact athletes feel they have to take
performing enhancing drugs to be competitive.
Whether he is guilty or not, I am sure he was exposed to it.

I believe Lance is innocent.( He has passed over 500 drug tests) If he isn't, its not for me to judge!  Lance can now move on to better things like having more time to work with cancer awareness organization(Lance Armstrong Foundation) he founded in 1997.  This is really important to him as he is a cancer survivor himself.

I feel bad for Lance Armstrong. I don't know what to make of it, I guess time will tell more to the story. It's not over yet.

I'm not sure why he gave up his fight if he is innocent.

I wouldn't be too quick to judge here people - besides, if those titles are vacated, they would only go to people who have been convicted of doping in races.....
