Ever had car trouble?
« on: September 08, 2012, 11:43:16 pm »
Had my first flat tire a few days ago while I was driving by myself.  Kinda proud that immediately after I discovered it was flat I went into "must change tire" mode before calling my dad.  Took me about 5 minute after doing the "where's the spare," "how do I get it down," "where's the jack" before I realized I should probably warn people that I had a flat and would be late for work.

And then, of course, the spare tire wouldn't come down from under the car cause one of the cables was rusted.  Kinda made me sad cause I've wanted to change a tire.  I've helped my dad change tires in our driveway, but it's different when you're on your own trying to do it.

What was your experience like?

Haven't had one for a while, knock on wood. The last time I had one I had a van full of kids and animals, I did get it changed but the kids were very bored.

O yes many times and it always seems too happen when you are by yourself. My scariest one was a blow out of my right front tire in a 3/4 ton pickup going 60 miles an hour. I was proud of my self keeping it on the road. Was transporting a  person to the dr. .Was working for home health care. She was very calm about it. Called her hubby to come and get her and called mine to come and change the tire. No way could i jack that heavy thing up. Had my brake lines go out on a mountain.  Used to wonder why me. Oh well we all have our good days and bad days.

I've had more than my fair share of car trouble over the years.  It's just something that goes along with owning a car.
