Drought Relief
« on: September 12, 2012, 10:27:23 pm »
Looks like the DFW area of north Texas is going to get some drought relief in the next few days.  But those folks up in the Panhandle do not appear to be as lucky.  And from what I am hearing it is beyond dry up there as the water level in Lake Meredith has sunk to a new record low.

I can only imagine it-- I'm in Washington State and even up here, we just went 51 days without rain, rivers at all time lows and salmon season cut short in most of the state. Our corn did miserably this year too, and here on the farm the crops were pretty poor yield, even the tomatoes. The potatoes are looking good-- but then again, you can't kill a potato if you grow them in boxes the way I do  :)

I got pics from our other half of the business in Arizona-- where the drought has been on for over 10 years-- and even the danged cactus looked bad. It was scarey-- a skinny saguaro looks even worse than a fat one (but then again, I'm allergic to them, so I'm prejudiced)

Hope you get more rain down that way
