What is your favorite breed of dog?

I like most medium to large dogs.   I've had black labs, golden retrievers, great dane, shepard, collie, and a few mutt's.   Right now I have a puggle and he is obviously my favorite right now.  I'm thinking about getting him a Huskie since I don't think any dog should be an only child.   I've always had two at a time.

Used to be German shepherds, but after I rescued a poodle from a shelter to be a companion to a puppy who lost his mom, I was hooked. People make fun of poodles, but they are ranked at the top of intelligence.  I have had three of them.  Two lived for 10 years and I gave the last one away after I had to be admitted to the hospital emergently and she was home alone.  I miss them all so much.  The only downside is the expense to maintain them since they have hair that grows instead of fur.

I'm like others in likeing different breeds but we have a black lab female   that I wouldnt' trade for anything. but we would also like to get white retrievers.

German Shepard/ Golden Retrievers as of right now! I'm lucky and actually own a mix of both!

We used to have a Rhodesian ridge back that was really awesome! I don't see many ridge backs anymore.
