I vote for shutting down the federal government for four years.  We might actually save some money for once.  =-P

Well, let's think about this.  Obama has been President for almost 4 yrs now and has not fulfilled ONE PROMISE he MADE IN HIS 2008 CAMPAIGN.  He refuses to allow documents to be released regarding the Fast and Furious fiasco and has gone so far as to sign ANOTHER EXECUTIVE ORDER BANNING THEIR RELEASE EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE BEEN SUBPOENAED.  He continues to spin the same tale in this campaign as previously and EXPECTS PEOPLE TO BELIEVE HE IS BEING HONEST!!!!  I, for one, have made up my mind - OBAMA IS A DISAPPOINTMENT AND NEEDS TO GO - MY VOTE GOES TO ROMNEY!!!!!  Now, you, on the other hand MUST DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND LOOK UP THE RECORD OBAMA IS RUNNING ON AND MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND!!!!  SO GOOD LUCK!!!!!!  CHOOSE WISELY AND THINK HARD!!!!!!!!!!!

Asking five irrelevant questions isn't going to help anyone develop an intelligent opinion.

There 7 questions. It should give them a start to do research on their candidate, or they will never learn what their own opinion is.

No, there are only five questions listed. Researching the answers to those irrelevant questions still doesn't help one to develop an intelligent opinion, just an irrelevant one.

5 questions, 7 questions, who cares about the number.  The point is, that the questions are a very good starting point for someone still undecided.  Romney-Ryan can't even keep their facts straight and have not even given us a clue about their 5 Point Plan.  What is their plan?  They can't answer that question because they don't know.  Anyway if the Dems can't win back control of the House it won't matter who the president is, because the country will still be in a deadlock.    OBAMA-BIDEN 2012.    :peace:

People with the ability to count might care, but of course I'm going to correct someone who inaccurately tried to correct me.

Now, the questions are a very poor and irrelevant starting point. Two pertain to issues which the president has no real authority, while the other three are strawman questions. They are not designed to help someone develop an informed and intelligent opinion.

Do you want the government to do more, be more powerful, spend and tax more?  Do you think bigger government is the solution? If so vote for Obama and Biden.

Do you want the government to be more limited, at least somewhat curb spending, and lower tax rates in order to incentivize everyone to earn more?  Is big government the problem?  If so, vote for Romney and Ryan.

Obviously there is a lot more to it than that, but economically and on the question of the role of government, there is a pretty big difference between the two candidates.

To attempt to answer the original part of your question about who is telling the truth in the debates...I think it is virtually impossible for anyone who has decided for one candidate or the other to answer this question with any real level of objectivity.  I believe that Romney has a much higher level of integrity, but I realize that I am not objective.

I don't trust either of them, actually. But I know Obama is a Communist, and he's admitted that he doesn't care about the Constitutional separation of powers, so I know he is not a good president. Neither of them care about the ordinary American people, but at least Romney would do less harm during his first term than Obama would do during his second, since Romney would be looking for reelection, and Obama already said he's looking forward to his second term so that he won't be beholden to the people.
