I would suggest if you want to be really cheap, make your own masks. Get creative and use your imagination. cut a chuck of cardboard about the size of your face and go from there.

If you are really cheap, a paper plate, some string, markers and a hole punch/scissors makes a very creative and cheap mask.   :P

I don't get too many trick or treaters, but when I do, one of my favorite things to do when answering the door is when they say "trick or treat", I pause and look like I'm "thinking" and respond - "I choose trick!".  The surprised looks on their faces is priceless, and their parents get a good giggle out of it.

Typically I intend it for the kids to play the "trick", but since the kids are requesting either a trick or a treat, this year I may try to learn some of those simple party "magic" tricks (like the rubber pencil) - and show them that and say that was their "trick".  LOL

If you don't want to make your costume, you can try a second hand store!  :)

I am not sold on the Holloween idea, bacause I do not really think that it adds value to my kids. This thing of trying to scare people, or dead people coming back to life is real nonsense. Sorry not for me. :icon_rr:

Check places like Goodwill. I we got the kids' costumes there and they had a pretty good selection of Halloween items.

You can resist the urge to enjoy the party and tell everyone that you are wearing an invisible mask that rejuvenates your skin. That way you do not have to waste time thinking of where to get masks and which kind would be appropriate. You can also make a weird face the whole time at the party and tell everyone you are wearing a very realistic flesh mask that looks like your face making a weird face.

I love trick or treat. I love to see cute little costume at this time. I used to take my daughter trick or treating and we go to different neighborhoods. I also love those snickers bars and milky bars that she  gets.

You can make your own masks, if you want to save some money, or get a cheap mask from the store and add on to it.
