communication
« on: December 05, 2012, 06:45:11 am »
Yesterday, a lady asked me to help her prepare some Christmas greetings [ I have a design program].
So, I waited for her to come to me with the details so I could work on her request.
The same day, she went somewhere else to get it done; she didn't tell me.
I asked her this morning when she had time to work on it.
She said "Oh, I asked "Maxine" [another person] to do it."

:) Gerianne, Forgive her and move on. Never look at what you have lost. Always look ahead for something better.

If we all knew how each others minds worked life probably easier but very boring. Don't be angry, confused perhaps, but let it go and move on seems the best thing.

i hate waiting on people like you did but there isnt anything any of us can do to change it.  when i say something i keep word.  to me it is just being polite.  but i think politeness is going out of style

Sorry this happened to you, there could be many reasons or no reason at all why she did this but she could've given you the respect, the common courtesy of letting you know she will be going with someone else, you could have done something better with your time than wait on her. Everything happens for a reason and good thing comes to those who wait.

Sometimes people can be in such a rush to get things done that they forget to follow up.  Don't hold it against her.  There is a saying charge it to their head and not their heart.

I catch myself doing the same things though. It happens one way or another. I was going around church after the service trying to get a baby sitter lined up and a ride to work. This lady told me she could babysit, but not drive. I didn't know her other than church so I did not feel comfortable. There was another couple who went to the same church I used to go too who where freinds with my parents. They said they could babysit and give a ride and I didn't get back to the other babysitter. I feel bad about it now, but my three year old was acting up and I just wanted to get out of there.

Dear Gerianne,
You were treated rudely by the person.  I am sorry that she was not honest with you about getting estimates from others to do the project as well.  It would have been more respectful of you for her to have just been upfront with you from the beginning.

Nobody is perfect.  Everyone makes mistakes.   I think it is best to not hold it against her.   Forgive her for the mistake and move on.
