Sad Day
« on: December 08, 2012, 08:23:32 am »
We are off to euthanize our 14 year old cat today. Very sad. He is arthritic and has no tail so he has lost most control down there leaving land mines all over the house. He also recently took to meowing at nothing in the middle of the night. He's my husband's cat and the kids love him too so it is a sad day.  :'(  :angel11:  :cat:

Yes it is a sad day for you.

Your cat has been a part of your family for a long, long time.

We have had to do the same with some of our furry friends over the years.

Be grateful for the happy memories you have of him.  Those memories will make you smile later on.

Very sorry to hear about your kitty.  I too have experienced the loss of my beloved 16 yo kitty Jake, so I truly understand.  :angel11:

My heart goes our to your and your family.  I have 3 cats so I completely understand.  When they get sick it's just like a member of the family and we try to do everything we can for them.  The only solace you can take from this is that kitty will now go to a better place where he will frolic with others of his species and will have no more pain.  He will be a kitty angel!!! :angel12:

My thoughts are with you at this very sad time. I, too, had to part with my faithful doggie companion after she got too old to even eat. She also pulled out all of her own fur. As a previous member suggested.....hold onto the good memories and they will stay with you forever.  :cat:

I am so sorry you had to make such a heartbreaking decision.  It must have been very difficult to see him suffer.  You sound like a caring person who did all you could for your cat and provided him with a loving home.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful words. We are adjusting well and when the kids speak of Alec  :cat: they only pause for a moment of thought instead of crying.

Putting a pet to sleep is so hard.  I am so very sorry.  I will keep your family in my prayers.

Sorry for your loss.  We had to put a dog down a few years ago and it is tough.
They really become part of the family. :peace:
