Was your Christmas what you expected?
« on: December 27, 2012, 02:34:19 pm »
Mine went like a charm.  Kids dissappointed in toys.  Parents aggreivated with the kids.  Na jjk.  Mine was good.  Wish the grandkids could have stayed a bit longer.  Didn't seem like I had spent much time with them.  Then it was time for them to leave.   I hope you had a good Christmas.

Too many people to socialize on Christmas, seems like you are trying to get to the next step. But everyone had a good time and nobody ended up in an arguement so I would consider it a success.

My family hosted for my extended family this year. We knew things would be busy, but I feel like we can never really prepare ourselves enough when the time comes to make things easier. We had some late arrivals and they didn't until very late (past midnight), so that made things harder. I'm glad we won't be hosting again anytime soon.

My Christmas was beautiful.  We went to Iowa to be with daughter and husband and family, and my daughter and I baked and cooked alot!  Our other grandson and fiance, and grandaughter and fiance came and it was wonderful to see them.  Of course we had to eat too! ;)

X-mas was uneventful & okay. Only 2 unusual things happened. My brother's wife her family seem to have some kind of x-mas curse. X-mas comes around and something strange happens. The first I learned was my sister in law's mom from leukemia the bone marrow transplant didn't work. 2yrs later my sis in law's grandmother died she was driving to the store to get medicine & got in into a minor bumper to bumper car accident. The accident didn't kill her complications in the hospital did. This was a year after my husband passed. I was so shocked hearing about it still reeling with pain from my loss. Grandma was going to each me how to use my sewing machine. This year my father-law was suppose to come to visit for x-mas. He couldn't make cuz my brother-motorcycle accident & had to go to him. Thankfully it wasn't serious & he was wearing helmet. Weird right?! Finally a funny mishap happened to me as well. We left my bro's house w/our presents & I get home got settled down & decide to try on my new outfits. Lol, looked for my x-mas presents & couldn't find it!I forgot @ my bro's house. I swear,  I was sure that I'd put it in the car! Ya, my x-mas was good & uneventful a little bit!  ;)  :peace:

my christmas was much better than expected, actually.
i'm still getting to know my fiance's extended family
and i think they still consider me ''new'' ...but i've gotten
less awkward as i've gotten older and i'm starting to fit in
and let go of feeling like the outsider. it's nice to feel like
part of the fam!
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

Yeah....pretty much. Family dinners, presents, and spending time with family and friends during the holidays.  My Christmas is usually pretty mellow...which is nice  :)

I thank the Lord for seeing Christmas, but for the most part my Christmas was really blah.
