Crowd Flower Tasks

I used to do a lot of these tasks, but for a while now I have not been able to join in or complete any of them.  I just tried to "Flag Images of Babies" in photos provided by the Task, however, all of the photos are NOT filling in, which lowers the scores.  I've tried to refresh the page, but it either doesn't work, or dumps me back out to the List of Tasks.

I then tried to get in to the "Flag Adult Images" task and it keeps telling me I've "completed" the task, when I haven't even started one.

These tasks come in handy to make up some cents when we don't qualify for other things.  Would somebody look in to this?  As I said, I had no problems until a couple of months ago and now it's a constant thing.  Thanks!

Omg, I'm so glad you started this new thread because I was also going to. I'm so sick and tired of errors/bugs on the Task pages. Every SINGLE day there's an issue! And it doesn't make any difference if you create a Crowd Flower account to report a problem (which I did) because there are thousands of other people complaining about the EXACT same thing. So, obviously Crowd Flower has a MAJOR issue with their system and I hope it'll get resolved soon, however, it would appear that their system has been messed up for ages and ages (from what I've been told). It's not only on FC that the Tasks aren't loading properly or at all. Other people have mentioned that Crowd Flower has problems with tasks on all the other sites that host Crowd Flower tasks. Ugh! I keep doing the tasks that I can each day because it definitely helps my balance go up but if there's one thing that makes me want to scream each day, it's the Tasks! LOL!      

Well, your reply certainly explains a lot.  I didn't realize they had problems on other sites.  Apparently, they don't care, either.  Guess I'll stay away from the tasks then!

When I wanted to report bugs on certain task pages, I would click the 'support/help' button on the task page and it would tell me I need to create a Crowd Flower account....so I did. Once there, I filled out a form with my 'Contributor ID' and 'Job ID' so that they would know which task I was specifically referring to and they could check my task activity to see which other tasks I had completed but never received credit for (which often happens when there's a bug on the page and you have to refresh the page). Then I started checking out the 'community forum' on Crowd Flower and there were thousands of messages from other people complaining about the tasks and the fact that there were so many errors/bugs on most of the task pages. At that point, I decided not to let it frustrate me anymore since I obviously wasn't the only one experiencing issues and from that point on, I decided to do the tasks that work properly and if a task doesn't load properly, I ignore it completely. Some of the messages on Crowd Flower dated from 1 year ago...so Crowd Flower's system has been having issues for a very long time! 

Gee, that's too bad.  A whole YEARs worth of complaints and they still haven't taken care of the problem(s).  Things were moving right along for a while, then all of a sudden, there were more errors than I could shake a stick at.  I really haven't found too many tasks that I actually LIKE to do that DOESN'T have a problem.  Oh well, I guess I just lost another way to make a little cash.  It just gets aggravating when you have to complete 5 pages for 3 cents and then the whole shabang goes up in smoke.  Not worth my time anymore, so I'll avoid.

I used to do the tasks all the time too, but I got so tired of working on them for 30 minutes and then telling me I didn't get enough correct.....even though it was their errors causing me to not get them correct. I guess I won't be going back any time soon.

Yeah, I noticed pictures missing with one of the "flag images" tasks, but I still got paid. Sometimes I do tasks if I feel "tasky" for a few minutes to get a few cents here and there, but overall I find the tasks kind of annoying and not very rewarding for the time spent.

I have no idea how ElisaJoy gets $50+ a month doing tasks, but more power to her!

I do different types of Crowdflower tasks at different sites. Here at FC, I'll do the more promotional type of tasks, like send a tweet, or sign up at sites, that type of thing.

Whenever I've had a problem, I've had good luck at the GetSatisfaction site. First I'll do a search by the Task ID #, to see if someone has already opened an issue for it. If I get no matches by the Task ID, then I'll search by the Task title. As long as I've put both my Contributor ID and my Task ID in my issue, I've gotten a response from them. On a few occasions, they've given me a tiny bonus for my trouble.

Way back when Crowdflower went by the name Delores Labs, I pretty much brushed them off as not worth my time. The work their clients put out was just way too much effort for way too little pay. But I really have to give credit where credit is due, in that they've really made some improvements, and occasionally have some clients who post Tasks which pay well and can be interesting too.

One thing I found out, is Crowdflower is really a very small business with only about 35 employees. Out of that, only 4 or 5 are actually doing customer support. That's why if I'm having a problem with a task I'm not really thrilled with, I'll just let it slide, because it's not worth my time to report it. But if it's something I really like doing, and it's something that gets posted a lot, I'll take 5 minutes to make a post over at GetSatisfaction to make sure I don't get locked out of it.
