I grew up in the country and still live in a rural area.  I like to go to the city but do not like to live there.

Grew up in the country, divorced and lived in some larger cities and didn't really like it, I came home every change i could to be out in the country. Have since moved back home but am living in the small town. It is ok, but i still get the urge to go back out to the farm. Just don't get the urge to drive the tractors or herd the cattle during the spring roundup. Oh yeah it is partly a ranch too. Let the nephews and nieces do all the work. Young dumb and full of energy.

I grew up in a small town where one could walk everywhere. Then I moved to various other small towns and loved it. Now I live in a large city and it freaks me out!!

I had the best of both worlds: summers spent in the country as a child and spring/fall/winter spent in the cities. My parents worked almost as much as I do and  couldn't watch us during the summer so we would go to grandmothers house-she lived on a lake and we spent everyday in the water...visiting the city on the weekends.  It was also kind of nice because grandmother's like to spoil grandchildren...ahh what fond memories: climbing trees, fishing camping out, getting lost in the cornfields, picking strawberries in the strawberry patch, and having every kind of animal as a pet...a lot that my grand parents didn't even know about!

I live in New Orleans, but a suburb of New Orleans.  It is very small town feel right outside a very big and dangerous city.

I grew up all over the place but most of the time it has been in rural areas just outside of big cities. Best of both worlds.

Small town, rural area-- you cannot beat living in a small town where people know you at businesses, banks, etc.  The closest city of any size is over an hour's drive away; I would not mind living closer to a big city but that might change the low crime rate and other advantages we enjoy here.
