I have never cheated, but I have been cheated on. i don't know why people cheat, but I suspect at least from my failed relationships, that many women feel neglected and want to be the center of someone's attention. I think the reason people cheat is that we no longer stimulate each other intellectually. Long before the cheating starts conversation becomes stale and routine, even boring. I will generally end a relationship if I feel those things are happening. I suppose some people are afraid to loose what they have while tempted by something new. I have noticed that a woman is more likely to forgive and accept a man who cheats, than vice versa. i have also noted that women are more likely to cheat with an "old Flame" than with someone new, usually as the result of baggage or unresolved issues from that previous relationship.

I don't think most people knows why they may or would cheat on their significant other.  I've been cheated on, and the person could/would not explain to me why.  Nevertheless I got rid of that loser.
