You should tell your doctor. He can easily prescribe you something or you can buy Acetaminophen (like tylenol) at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens... ect. Hope they stop coming! Try to reduce your stress levels too.

I have chronic migrains. I have to take a prescription medicine on a daily basis for them, but it's better than suffering with them.

My mother used to get really bad headaches, then started to take Zinc supplements which helped a lot.  I've heard of other cases where people have to stop taking other vitamins because they cause migraines.

The only advice I can provide is see if you can find what triggers your migraines.  Many migraines are the result of some kind of trigger in your body causing the imbalance that results in the migraine.  My dad's migraines were triggered by eating dark chocolate - so he just needs to be aware of what's in the deserts he eats.  If he realizes he's eaten some dark chocolate, he can prepare himself for dealing with the migraine that's sure to come and can sometimes minimize the impact.

Mine are mostly triggered from tension headaches - particularly ones where the tension is in my neck and shoulders.  I feel the tension headache creeping up my spine, then if I don't get that headache to stop, many times it flips to a migraine.  So the first signs if a tension headache, I'm taking some advil and trying to relax to kill the tension headache before it becomes a migraine.

If yours tend to occur around the same time of the month - yours could be related to hormonal imbalances or body chemistry where you might be lacking a mineral consistently.  Maybe it's an allergy trigger and you get them after encountering a food/animal/plant during those times.  Your doctor may be able to run some tests if it's hormonal or chemical imbalances.

Perhaps try keeping a journal of your activities and foods for a month or two, and note when you get your migraines.  Maybe you'll find something consistent that happens before you get your migraines, then see if there's anything you can do to avoid or minimize whatever that thing is.

Are you taking a prescription migraine medicine?  It's the only thing that works on mine; over the counter doesn't touch it. There are daily preventatives you can take but I haven't found one that works for me. They make me feel bad every day. If you haven't seen a specialist like a neurologist, you should consider it.  I get 5 to 12 a month. If it wasn't for the medication I wouldn't have any joy in life.  Mine are mostly hormone related so I'm hoping memopause will help with them. I feel for you!

I will pinch the areas between my thumb and index finger really, really hard for temporary relief. Other than that, I don't know of any other sort of relief other than may Aspirin :/

My sister in law has been suffering with them for at least 40 years that I known her. She is on prescription meds for them (don't know the name). She seems to be one of the most unhealthy woman I have ever met, and she is a retired nurse!! She had to retire because her hands shake so bad she could no longer give IV's. She was disabled about 5 years ago. She was able to retire because she had 31 years with the same hospital.

[/quote If you can't get a prescription for your migraines, When you feel one comming on open a can of black olives and eat them.  I didn't think this would work but it did as long as I ate the black olives on the onset of the mirgrains, it may not work for you but it is worth a try.  My sister-in-law her mother told me that is what she used because she doesnt have health insurence so someone told her and it worked for her as well as myself.

I used to get them a lot in college, I think because I wasn't eating right or keeping a very good schedule.  I was always up at weird hours, sleeping like 2-3 hours at a time and eating junk.  I tend to get them when I'm stressed out too, but I can usually tell when I'm at risk of getting them now so I can modify my behavior.

I used to get migraines once a week, now I see a neurologist and I am on meds for preventing them.  They work wonders.  I have gone as long as a year without a migraine. And trust me, I was overwhelmed with them.  Going to the emergency room with them, in the bed with them.  You name it!
